About the CDes IT Department

Our mission statement is:

The College of Design IT department supports the college's mission through proactive service to its faculty, staff, and students. We accomplish this, in part, by adding value to centrally provided IT services and avoiding unnecessary duplication. In addition, where there are needs with no viable central IT service available, we provide innovative and effective solutions to meet the need. In everything we do, we strive to be exemplary with a focus on service.

The IT department consists of nine people located in Rapson and McNeal Halls on the Minneapolis and St. Paul campus. Chris Bucksa manages infrastructure services. Clay Kimber is the network administrator. Tara Faricy and Matt Thoen provide desktop support. Theresa Tichich supervises web and multimedia services with assistance from Anvesh Kumar. Tom Thao, as the data manager, provides operational support through application development and database maintenance. Jen Switala manages the Rapson computer labs.  The director of the IT department is John Grosen. His office is in the dean's suite in Rapson 101. These people are all eager to help you.
