Printing Policy
There are numerous different options for printing within CDes and we encourage you to take advantage of these. It is important that you pay attention to what and where you are printing. If you are unclear about how to print, please ask either the Imaging Lab or Computing Center attendant for help.
The Imaging Lab has two Epson ink jet printers available to give students, faculty, and staff a means for printing high quality images at a reasonable price.
All printing within the Imaging Lab is on a first come, first served basis and is charged per page based on the type and size of the media used.
The Imaging Lab sells a variety of Epson papers by the page and has examples of each media posted in the lab for reference. Students have the option of providing their own Epson paper for printing and paying the lab for ink per page, but the lab insists that only Epson papers be run through the printers; no exceptions.
Printing high quality images can take 3 - 10 minutes per page based on the size of the file as well as the size of the output and we recommend that users plan ahead when they will be doing a lot of printing. Because all computer monitors are color calibrated differently, please give yourself enough time when printing to rework your images if necessary.
Imaging Lab staff must authorize all printing to the Epson printers. Please see the lab attendant on duty before sending any prints; they will assist you in loading media and configuring the printer setup menus.
Please see the Imaging Lab for current printing prices and talk with the lab staff if you have any questions concerning high quality printing; we are here to help.
