Imaging Lab

LCD/Laptop Policy

The Imaging Lab has one Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop and one Macintosh iBook with a 10GB portable Firewire hardrive available for checkout from the lab. Both laptops have a 250Mb Zip drive and a network card available upon request. Software on the computers includes: Adobe PhotoShop, PageMaker, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.

The lab also has two portable LCD data projectors available to checkout for digital presentations of CDes coursework, special presentations, and for teaching usage.

All LCD and laptop reservations must be made in advance with lab management by the faculty or staff member who wishes to use the equipment. Faculty members are responsible for reserving, picking up, and returning all equipment and must have signed and filed a LCD/Laptop reservation form with the lab. LCD/laptop reservation forms are available directly from the lab or can be downloaded from the Imaging Lab Web site.

Students can not checkout LCD or laptop equipment from the lab without a faculty member submitting a reservation form. Faculty may designate a TA to pickup and return equipment, but it is the faculty member themselves who is responsible for the proper setup, safekeeping, and return of all the equipment checked out.

LCDs and laptops are under very heavy usage throughout the semester, so we recommend that users make reservations with lab management as far in advance as possible to ensure availability. Please see lab management if there are any questions concerning LCD and laptop checkouts or if special arrangements are necessary to accommodate your needs.

Note: Any exceptions to these policies must be approved by Imaging Lab staff.
