Imaging Lab

Check Out Policy

Cameras may be checked out by registered CDes students only. A valid student ID and phone number must be presented upon checkout.

Cameras are available on first come, first served basis. Students may reserve cameras 72 hours in advance. Reserved cameras must be picked up within a half-hour of their reservation time or they will be placed back into regular circulation.

Cameras may be checked out for two to three hours at a time. Exceptions may be made for studio projects and field trips but due to the small number of cameras the college has, it is important to monitor availability and encourage students to share cameras whenever possible. During studio hours/trips, limit camera checkout to two digital cameras or one video camera per studio.

Students who want to check cameras out over night may do so one hour prior to close on the evening they want the camera. Cameras checked out at night must be returned within one hour of the lab opening the following day.

Cameras must be returned on time! Students who do not return cameras on time will be given one warning before they are no longer allowed to take cameras out of the lab.

Checked out cameras are the responsibility of whomever's student ID we have on file; no exceptions. If a student checks out a camera, it is her responsibility to see that it is returned to the Imaging Lab undamaged and on time even if she is sharing it with other students or a class.

All cameras must be checked out and returned to the lab personnel on duty. If cameras are not returned directly to lab personnel, the student to whom the camera was last registered to will be held accountable for the camera's whereabouts.

Items available for check out:

  • Sony digital cameras
  • Olympus digital cameras
  • VHS video recorder
  • Digital video cameras (reservation recommended)

Note: Any exceptions to these policies must be approved by Imaging Lab staff.
