Upper Division DHA Honors Program Admission Information
The upper division DHA Honors Program is only available to students currently participating in the lower division DHA Honors Program. All other students interested in participating in an honors program should contact the University Honors Program.
To be eligible for the upper division DHA Honors Program, students must have completed the lower division DHA Honors program, have a minimum of 60 completed credits and at least 30 credits remaining before graduation.
- Students must plan to complete at least 60 U of MN credits while in the upper division DHA Honors Program.
- A 3.500 GPA or better is required in all college-level work at the time of application to the upper division DHA Honors Program.
Upper Division DHA Honors Program Completion Requirements
- 2 honors learning experiences at the 3000 level or above (There is no total credit amount required for the two learning experiences. You may use any combination of learning experiences.)
- minimum “B” grades in all honors learning experiences
- capstone project
- 60 or more graded credits at the U of M - Twin Cities
- 3.500 minimum University of Minnesota GPA, based on the final 60 graded credits.

Latin Honors
In order to receive Latin Honors you need to complete the upper division honors program. You may graduate with one of three Latin designations on your diploma:
- Cum Laude---3.500 GPA (final 60 graded credits)
- Magna Cum Laude--3.666 GPA (final 60 graded credits)
- Summa Cum Laude--3.750 GPA (final 60 graded credits)
If you graduate with Latin Honors you can also earn a level of distinction:
- Distinction—3.75 overall GPA or higher
- High Distinction—3.90 overall GPA or higher
Latin honors will be noted in the commencement ceremony program, the transcript and diploma.
