A registration hold (or “negative service indicator”) is a computer-generated “stop sign” that prevents you from registering until you have followed up on it. A hold may be placed your record for a variety of reasons, including scholastic or disciplinary reasons or for an unpaid debt to the U of M. You can check your record for holds. When you check for holds, you will see who has placed the hold on your record and where to go to clear it.
