Advising Appointments
 

Once admitted to the College of Design, you will be assigned an academic adviser, who will serve as your primary resource person during your academic career. Your adviser can help you in many ways, so be sure to connect with him/her on a regular basis.

During the academic year see your adviser during drop-in hours:

10-15 minutes sessions are available during drop-in hours for:

  • Brief review of current semester class schedule
  • Petition process discussions
  • Follow-up signatures for academic forms (after initial advising appointment)
  • Short Q & A's

When meeting with an adviser…

 

It’s YOUR job to:

  • Make your own decisions about school
  • Read and be familiar with your APAS    
  • Schedule appointments early and arrive on time
  • Stay up-to-date on policies, deadlines, and resources
  • Treat your adviser with respect, including turning off your cell phone during appointments

 

It’s your adviser’s job to:

  • Advise you in a knowledgeable, professional, and respectful manner
  • Allow you to make your own decisions about school
  • Keep appropriate information about you confidential
